The slopes in Clovis
Local Builder, Eddie Adkins, helps clear streets and driveways after freak storm hits Clovis, NM.
Eddie Adkins, president of Adkins Construction Inc. enjoys helping his customers by “shoveling” their driveways when these odd snow storms come our way. When asked how he chooses whose driveway he “shovels”. He said, “I start clearing the street and as I see people trying to get out of their driveways, I clear a path with the bucket of my forklift…otherwise they would get stuck in this snow. When I went home to take a break my wife said a child had called for her dad and said, “could Mr. Adkins please come and plow our driveway? My dad is coming home from work and he is driving a car and probably can’t get in the driveway.”
Eddie assumed when her dad left for work this morning there was no snow and now there is probably 6 inches. The weather channel is anticipating Clovis NM will get 6- 8 inches of snow. Eddie Adkins was asked jokingly if there was a home owner’s association fee for snow removal that went with his homes and he just said, “no it is just one of the many perks of living in our family friendly community..we all just take care of each other, from baby sitting, and picking up kids, snow removal, even meals, we’re just one big family.”
Does your builder shovel your driveway?
Eddie Adkins, a local builder/land developer in Clovis New Mexico has a part time hobby when it snows…he shovels people driveway with his tractor. This is a service he feels he can offer people that buy homes from him in communities he builds in. “People are so busy these days, driveways are getting bigger, and my tractor can usually take a couple of swipes to wipe away the snow. Plus, it is just one more way I can show my appreciation for buying a house from me. They don’t have to pay a Homeowner’s association fee and I will try to keep doing it as long as I can.”
You might wonder what he does with all of the snow when he is done removing it from driveways…it has to do somewhere. It turns out that Eddie is just a kid at heart. Eddie recently “built” a snow mountain near his house where the neighborhood kids were all gathered with their sleds sliding down the slopes. Eddie was even caught going down it once or twice! If you are interested in any of the luxury homes, new homes, kid friendly homes or new home development going on be sure and give Eddie a call he is your family friendly builder! 1-575-742-1111 or email at eddiea@plateautel.net

Where to shop in Clovis NM?
Some of the military wives have approached me with the deer in the headlights look saying, “where do you shop?” Well, it may look bad out here, but it really is not. We use the internet a lot and Lubbock is only an hour and a half away and we do have Dillards. But, with [...]

Barrage is coming to Clovis
Barrage will be performing at the Marshall Auditorium on December 10, 2007. What’s the best way to describe them, “RiverDance with Fiddles?”
Gaelic Storm
On November 10th, Gaelic Storm played to a full house at the Lyceum, located downtown on main street. You’ve seen them if you watched the movie Titanic; they were the “Steerage Party Band.” It was an up-out-of-your-seat, clapping, sing-a-along, good time.
Kudos to the Cultural Arts program for bringing world-class entertainment to Clovis, NM.
